Ladies Guild conducts May crowning, installs officers

The St. Paul Ladies Guild conducted its annual May crowning and installation of officers in the church Thursday evening

Crowning the statue of the Blessed Virgin were Joann Head
and Pat Rinella. The program opened with singing of  “Immaculate Mary.”  Sandi Denholm led the Rosary.

The five Glorious Mysteries were led by Rosemary Mileski, Susie Gatian, Vi Papao, Peggy Roth,  and Patty Hogue. Each placed a flower in a vase near the Blessed Virgin. The Guild sang “On This Day O Beautiful Mother” for the crowning and the pastor, the Rev. Fr. Ralph Thomas, gave out the Litany of Loreto. The closing hym was “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman”

Outgoing president Paula Adam thanked Guild members for their help during her four years as president.

Officers installed by Fr. Raph Thomas were Ashley Piper, president; Mary Lou Goodhart, vice president; Karen Cain, secretary; Judi Stoerkel, treasurer,  and hostesss Emily Balca, Jodi Guilfoyle and Joanne Head.


There were 25 ladies attending the ceremonies.

I think it would be a good idea to have a parish May Crowning that would take place on a Sunday where all parishioners could participate. So many times parish events such as the May Crowning occur during the week when many of us are at work. It doesn't seem fair.
