As we begin, the beautiful season of Advent—that period of great anticipation and joy. This is a time of great preparation for the celebration of Jesus' arrival in Bethlehem. As the secular culture around us tries to remove Christ from Christmas by removing the word Christmas from the season, by not allowing lyrics mentioning Christ's birth to be su during programs, and by prohibiting nativity scenes from public displays, the staff of St. Paul School will do its best to prepare our students during this wonderful season for the arrival of Jesus Christ into the hearts of our students on Christmas Day. "For God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him might have eternal life" (John 3:16)
As always we begin the day at Saint Paul School wih spiritual music and prayer. Also, Father Ralph is delivering Advent scripture readings and reflections during the morning announcements. The Advent Wreath is now set up in the intermediate hallway, and classes visit the display throughout the day for their Advent prayers. On Tuesdays, classes are also making visits to the Church for prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. (I wonder if we truly appreciate how fortunate and blessed we are to have our students so close to the Church and to Jesus.) The students also have activities based on Advent - Trees, Advent Wreaths, Advent Calendars, and Jesse Trees that are displayed in the classrooms – traditions that prepare the students for the true meaning of Christmas.
In addition, the students will be attending Mass on Dec. 8th the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Advent Reconciliation will take place Dec. 19th. Furthemiore, Our Lady of Guadetoupe activities are also planned for Dec. 12th in Mrs. Wright's Spanish class and Mrs. Hazlett's 4th grade class.
In the true spirit of this season, the students are filling a Christmas tree with gloves, hats, mittens, and scarves to be donated to children In our community who lack these needed winter items. Open M will distribute these items
T h e 1st and 3rd graders will present their Christmas Program to the Ladies Guild Dec 8th at 6:30 PM in the PAC and for their fellow students on Dec 15th at 1:45 PM. The Christmas program for the parents and families will be performed on Dec. 15th at 6:30 PM in the PAC.
FYI
From Thanksgiving to Christmas many activities require not only a student's time but also their energy and emotions. The second grading period is interrupted, and this time of year can present some challenges to students. After the Christmas break school begins with less than three weeks until the end of the 2nd grading period. Therefore, it is so very important that during these next weeks, students keep up with their schoolwork and not let the activities of the season and participation in organized sports interfere with their school requirements. Please check GradeLock weekly to see your child's progress for the 2nd grading period. If you have concerns or questions, please call or email your child's teacher.
Have A Blessed and Holy Christmas.

The principal needs to proof read his sentences as the first sentence from his desk is fragmented. Not trying to find blame just suggesting that as principal he is held to higher standards. As a teacher, I am held to accountability for what I teach my children. What would parents say if I taught them the concepts of letter writing but failed to do them myself. As a parent, I would also be in trouble if I expected something from my children that I thought I didn't have to follow. As all of us are teachers to children, we all need to take a look at how all of us are doing. We the examples.
This is interesting that this comment was posted. I also posted something regarding that same thing and it was not posted. While I am well aware that mistakes happen there are many on the blog. But really the principal should as the above writer states proof read his message.
Just saying
