Helen Hermann Limburg: Parishioner for 90 years

Helen Hermann Limburg has been a member of St, Paul Parish for 90 years –her entire life. She will celebrate her 90th birthday at the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday. She was born on on November 7, 1921, the daughter of Catherine and Stanley Kulka in Firestone Park. So she also has been a resident of Firestone Park all of her 90 years.

Helen attended Voris School and was graduated from Garfield High School in 1939.
She received her First Communion from Msgr. Clement Boeke.

Helen retired in 1982 after 25 years as a clerk at the main post office. She was active in the Firestone Park Prime Timers and served as president several years. She has traveled extensively in Europe including a visit to her homeland of Poland and throughout the U.S.

She was married June 21, 1943 to Leroy William Hermann for 40 years until his death in April, 1982. He was a longtime usher at St. Paul Church and was Boy Scout troop leader. He received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest in Scouting, for his service. He also was a member of the Kinights of Columbus. Helen was married again in December, 1989 to Richard Limburg who died in 2001.

Helen has five children, seven grandchldren and six great-grandchildren.

The children are Jeanne (Don) McBurney of Munroe Falls, Jeannette (Mort) Hermann-Rosenblum who lives in Paris, France, Janice (Don) Carlin of Jupiter, FL, Leroy (Marilyn) Hermann lives of Logan, OH, and Joyce (Mike) Shaffer of Poland, OH.

All five children made their First Communion and attended St. Paul School while Msgr. was pastor and were graduated from St. Vincent High School.
