his life to law enforcement. Ron served as police chief and detective for the Franklin Township Police Department from 1982 until his retirement in 1996. He also served as a Deputy with the Summit County Sheriff's Office from 1979 to 1982. Ron also proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Frank ``Butch' and Betty Fuchs, numerous aunts and uncles and granddaughter, Emily Clark. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, of 24 years, Judge Patricia A. Cosgrove; children, Julie (Robert) Clark, Jenny (Nick) Jamison, Michael (Abbey) Fuchs; grandchildren, Katie and Riley Clark, Briana, Mikayla and Nicholas Jamison and Sydney Fuchs; sisters, Sally (William) Scala and Becky (Bill) Osborne; brother, Dale (Nancy) Fuchs; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a loving thank you to the doctors and nurses that helped care for Ron at the Cleveland Clinic, in particular, Dr. Manmeet Ahluwalia, Dr John Suh and Cathy Schilero, R.N. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1580 Brown Street, Akron, OH 44301. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619). Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
