Marion Marchese, 91, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011. She was born in Calabria, Italy and came to the United States and Akron in 1921. She sang in the Glover School Choir for two years, enjoyed painting and loved art and poetry. Marion retired from the General Tire & Rubber Company after 34 years of service and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the General Tire Retiree's Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Saverio and Maria (Bruno) Marchese; sister-in-law, Esther; sister, Olga; and brother, Sam. She is survived by her sisters, Viola (Tony) Grappo of Florida and Sarah (Jim) Carollo of Arizona; brother, Joe Marchese of Akron; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Deacon Frank Lonteen officiating. There are no calling hours.
