David Bline, pastor of St. Francis deSales Parish, told members of the Akron Serra Club that many people had an influence on his decision to become a priest and said Catholics need to promote vocations. Tne joy of his own ministries and the people and families he comes into contact make it all worth doing, he said.

He mentioned the changes in the Liturgy coming with the new Roman Missal on the first Sunday of Advent. He said he looks forward to the changes in making the Mass more meaningful.
Finally he talked about the need as Christians and Catholics to follow the discipline that Christ showed in doing the will of the Father even to His deadth on the cross.
Fr Bline, 49, was appointed pastor of St. Francis on November 23, 2009. He was ordained May 30, 1998 and served as parochial vicar at St. Barnabas in Northfiled from June, 2003 to June 2007 when he was assigned to St. Francis as parochial victor. His first assignment was at St. Clare in Lyndhurst from June 1998 to June, 2003.
