At the request of Most Reverend Richard Lennon, pastors have been asked to review Cardinal Daniel DiNardo’s Respect Life Statement pertaining to October as “Respect Life Month.” Bishop Lennon asked his pastors to communicate this statement.
Cardinal DiNardo reflects on this message for this year. As Jesus said, “I came that all might have life and have it to the full.” The Cardinal’s message highlights factors that undermine efforts to build a culture of life: the unborn child, the aging parent who some call a ‘burden’ on our medical system, the allegedly ‘excess’ embryo in the fertility clinic, the person with a disability, the cognitively impaired accident victim---all at risk of being dismissed as a “life unworthy of Life.”
