It was a glorious night for Class of 2011

After posing for a class photo in the Parish Activity Center, the 28 members of the Class of 2011 at St. Paul School gathered in the narthex to prepare for that trip down the center aisle Thursday evening to receive their diplomas.

It was a glorious night for the 12 young women and 16 young men. Graduate Nicholas McInturff welcomed parents, families and friends. The Pomp and Circumstance processional music began and the students entered the church by pairs or trios in a few cases. Girls moved into pews on the left and boys on the right. Following behind them were the priests, the Rev. Fr. Ralph Thomas and the Rev. Fr. Matt ischay, prin\cipal Robert Brodbeck and the faculty. Teachers sat in a group near the organ.

The pastor, Fr. Thomas, gave the opening prayer and the first reading was by Marco Colant. After reading of the Gospel and homily by the pastor, the Our Father was sung and Fr. Thomas offered a prayer for peace. Then came the traditional rose ceremony when graduates went to their parents, grandparents and teachers to present them with a rose.

Then there were speeches and reflections by Jeremy Swords, Sydney Sloan, Leanne
Casserlie and Shannon Lloyd. The class then gathered in front of the altar to sing the class song, “The Scientist.”

After blessing the graduates, Fr. Thomas, distributed the diplomas and Grade 8 teacher Judson Hartman presented the Class of 2011,.

Then came the presentation of many awards. See the post below.
