of arms. Imagine a world where the Peace of Christ, with its prophetic honesty and reckless compassion and nonviolent resistance to evil is the rule of the country. Peacemaking is not Christian romanticism. Peacemaking is Christian mission. Violence is gettingus nowhere. Christian spirituality calls us beyond all of that by demanding personal dignity and mutual respectand listening. Peace is a byproduct of humility - the opposite of pride - and humility is always honest; it is never arrogant, never pushy, never destructive. Authentic peace
