Each registered parishioner now receives via mail a two-month supply of weekly and feast day envelopes. In an effort to cut costs we have gone to a bi-monthly mailing.
The traditional idea of a weekly offering at Mass is a continuing opportunity to fulfill our obligation to support and further the work of Christ in our community, uniting our daily work and efforts with the sacrifice of Christ Jesus which we are celebrating.
From a practical point of view—it is a good reminder to be a faithful steward and it certainly helps with the cash flow for paying all operational costs of our parish, school and gym.
However, there are other options. Some parishioners have decided to give a certain amount each month—they have prayerfully made a choice to give to God “first fruits” as it were. You may choose to establish a monthly giving plan. By arranging for direct giving online from your banking institution, we receive your monthly offering in the mail each month. We also welcome credit card contributions. You may also choose to use our envelopes only once a month and drop your generous monthly offering in the collection basket at Mass.
If you choose to contribute on a monthly or bi-monthly. basis, there is no need to send or use more than one regular envelope with your parishioner number on it. If you would like more information about any of these options, please contact the Rectory 330-724-1263.
