A Lenten thought from the Missal

A thought from the St. Joseph Weekly Missal for the Friday after Ash Wednesday:

"It is a good and holy practice to humble ourselves by abstaining from other than mere food for the body. The eye should abstain from all vain and curious sights, the ears from listening to idle talk, the tongue from distraction and frivolous words. True sorrow for our past sins can best be expressed through acts of love and charity towards others"
