What Lent can be for us this year is the theme of Bishop Richard Lennon’s Lenten message. The Bishop writes:
As we begin Lent next week with Ash Wednesday we have a special opportunity as individuals and as a faith community to reflect over these few days upon what this Lent can be for us this year.
When we look at Church teachings and at the writings of various spiritual writers on Lent we see there are many ways of approaching Lent, all of which have value.
I would offer the image of Lent as a journey as a way of entering into these upcoming days which can profit each of us both as individuals and as a community of believers.
