There will be a special birthday tribute at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday for Lucy Golding whose 101st birthday was Friday. Lucy, a former Akron resident, and her son, Dean, arrived Wednesday at Akron-Canton Airport from her home in Tampa.Lucy will be living with her youngest daughter, Rosemarie and husband Dick Pudoka, in Green. The Rev. Fr. Ralph Thomas took Communion to Lucy on Friday and gave her a special blessing.
The tribute was arranged by daughter Carol (Dick) Coughlin, a dedicated eucharistic minister at St. Paul. Lucy will not be able to attend the Mass because of inclement weather, but parishioners probably will sing Happy Birthday to her anyway.
