Props add meaning to gathering

Sometimes the props can make a difference–add meaning to a presentation. There was a unique use of them at the Women’s Gathering this weekend at St. Paul Parish.

More than 65 attended a potluck dinner in the Parish Activity Center on Friday evening and about 50 attended the Continental Breakfast there and the presentation by Sister Cheryl Rose in the church after breakfast.

You could not miss this huge cross displayed in the Activity Center. It was put together by Hank Richard. There were smaller crosses with a candle at two prayer stations. The placemats at each table included a cactus and rocks. A small wooden cross was given to each woman at the church.

Sister Cheryl Rose compared the cactus to prickly people who might offend you unless you realize that the prickly exterior is just a defense mechanism.

“Walk the walk – on the path with Jesus” was the theme of the Women's Gathering.

Judy Richard again coordinated the Women’s Gathering. Members of the Men’s Fellowship were on hand to help.
