Fr. Clancy, 62, has been pastor of Sacred Heart for 17 years since his appointment in August 1992 and had been chaplain at Akron General Medical Center since June, 1989.

Fr. Michael Ausperk, parochial vicar at St. Vincent since June, 2006, began a new assignment January 1 at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Wadsworth. Fr. Ausperk was at Holy Family in Stow from November, 2001 to June 1006.
In other assignment changes announced in the January 8 issue of the Cleveland Universe Bulletin, Fr. John M. ,Jenkins, pastor emeritus of St. Paul, was granted permission to reside in the rectory of St. Mary Parish in Painesville, effective January 1, and Fr. Francis Basa, administrator of the former Christ the King Parish, was appointed parochial vicar of St. Hilaryl Parish in Fairlawn, effective December 6.
Fr. Basa’s appointmnt was noted in a November 27 article on St. Paul TODAY about the closing of Christ the King.
Missionary priests of the Apostles of Jesus from Tororo Archdiocese of Uganda, East Africa, have been assigned as chaplains of Akron hospitals, effective November 15, with residence at St. Matthew Parish. Fr. Dismas Byarugaba was appointed for Akron City Hospital and Fr. Oscar Magyezi for Akron General Medical Center.
