Deacon Frank Lonteen is retiring. He made the announcement in this weekend’s bulletin:
Dear Parishioners of St. Paul Parish,
After much soul-searching, reflective prayer and consulting with Father Ralph Thomas, my wife and family, I petitioned Bishop Richard Lennon for his permission to retire.
Dear Parishioners of St. Paul Parish,
After much soul-searching, reflective prayer and consulting with Father Ralph Thomas, my wife and family, I petitioned Bishop Richard Lennon for his permission to retire.
On September 11, 2009, I received his response allowing me to retire from active Diaconate Ministry. Bishop Lennon has generously allowed me to retain my faculties which will enable me to continue to minister when called upon.
I was assigned to St. Paul Parish by Bishop Anthony Pilla on December 1, 1986, and have enjoyed serving the people of this parish for 23 years under the pastorate of Father John Jenkins and Father Ralph Thomas.
On January 1, 2010, I will be officially retired from active Diaconate Service. However, as I told Father Ralph, I am only a telephone call away and will be available for weddings, funerals and baptisms as my schedule allows. I will also be available for special celebrations, (i.e. Confirmation, Easter Vigil, etc.) again as my schedule will allow.
I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all of your prayers, your support and your love throughout all these years.
Affectionately,
I remain yours in Christ,
I remain yours in Christ,
Reverend Mister Francis R. Lonteen,
Deacon of St. Paul Parish
HAPPY RETIREMENT DEACON LONTEEN
There will be a coffee and cake reception for Deacon Frank in the Narthex on January 16 and 17, after the 4:30 p.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses.
