Most Rev. Richard Lennon, Bishop of Cleveland, after consultation with the Board of Trustees of the Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Diocese of Cleveland and with their full support, has appointed Andrej N. Lah, as the new
President of the Catholic Cemeteries Association.
Mr. Lah will be responsible for the stewardship of the 18 cemeteries owned and operated by the Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Diocese. Catholic Cemeteries and its 156 employees maintain 1800 acres of property with approximately 700,000 interments. Annually, 6500 are interred.
The son of Slovenian immigrants, Mr. Lah, 46, has served as General Legal Counsel, Chief of Operations and most recently as Acting Administrator for the Catholic Cemeteries. He succeeds the Rev. John Wright who recently was appointed administrator at St. Pius X and St. Mary parishes in Bedford and will become pastor at the newly formed Our Lady of Hope parish in Bedford later this month.
Mr. Lah believes, “the mission of the Catholic Cemeteries Association is a corporal work of mercy and that Catholic cemeteries must be maintained with the love and the care they deserve.”
