Mass for Denise Wunderlee is Thursday


NORTON -- Denise Louise Wunderle, 53, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, at Akron General Medical Center, after a very courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born in Akron on June 9, 1956 to the late Joseph and Mary Kandes, Denise had been a lifetime area resident. She currently worked as a cook for the Norton Public School System. Denise grew up as a m
ember of St. Paul Catholic Church in Akron. She currently attended St. Augustine Catholic Church in Barberton.

Denise's main source of happiness in life were her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, John Jr. of Norton; children, Todd (Carrie) Penn of Barberton, Brittany Wunderle of Barberton, and Katie Wunderle of Norton; grandaughter, Kandes Marie Penn; brothers, Robert (Donna) Kandes of Clinton, and John (Dianne) Kandes of Akron; sisters, Donna Faber of Stow, Lynn Dumitru of Fort Mill, S.C., and Stephanie Kandes of Akron; father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Wunderle Sr. of Cuyahoga Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
