90th anniversary banquet is a sell-out


The 90h anniversary banquet of St. Paul Parish is a sell-out celebration. There are no tickets left for the dinner after the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday.

Former associate priests and nuns who taught many St,. Paul parishioners are expected for the evening of food, fun, music and reminiscing.

The dinner will include Chicken Picata, Swiss steak with potatoes Wanda, green beans Italian style, tossed salad and cake. There will be a cash bar with wine, beer and soft drinks. Music will be provided by Joe Pappano and Friends.

On Sunday after the 11 a.m. Mass, all parishioners, adults and children are invited to celebrate the anniversary with cake and ice cream in the Parish Activity Center.

A raffle drawing with a $1,000 first prize will take place at the anniversary dinner. Raffle tickets are still available at $1 each or six for $5. For tickets, call Ron McAvoy at 330-724-7389.

I heard they didn't sell half of what they wanted to.

You must mean raffle tickets. The State fire marshal will allow only so many diners in Boeke Hall. The parish, however, would have enjoyed selling ten times the number of raffle tickets.
First Energy is also not giving away any light bulbs this week.
There also were only 10 parishioners plus Fr. Thomas ando organist Karyn Lintner at Rosary on Wednesday evening. You missed Benediction and the beautiful rendition of Ave Maria by Lintner.
