Mass is Friday for Kathryn Richards

Kathryn E. Richards, age 95, of Akron, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009.

She was born on August 5, 1913, in Akron, to the late John and Maria Pironti. Kathryn was a 1931 graduate of Akron Central Hower High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Akron for many years, where she was involved in the Ladies Guild and the choir.

In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Richards in 1980; grandson, Jeffrey Richards; brother, John Pironti; and four sisters, Florence Watkins, Clara Oldaker, Alma Lewis and Carman Pironti. She is survived by four sons, Bernard (Monica) Richards of North Canton, David (Karen) Richards of Florida, Thomas Richards of Akron and William (Ann) Richards of Akron; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church (1580 Brown St., Akron, OH 44301) with Fr. Ralph Thomas as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. Calling hours will be held TODAY, July 2, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel (801 Pittsburg Ave. N.W., North Canton, OH 44720).
