Mass for Angelo DeLuca is Wednesday


Angelo Phillip DeLuca, 92, went home to be with the Lord on the same day that he entered this world, June 3, 2009, at Bath Manor in Fairlawn.

Born in Akron, Angelo had been a lifetime resident. He retired in 1980 as the Assistant Superintendent of Sewer Maintenance for the City of Akron, having worked for the city for over 32 years.
He was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church for over 40 years and was also a member of the Firestone Park Prime Timers and the Rosetani Society.

o was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maryanne (Cacciarro) DeLuca and sisters, Mary Ann Lovell and Lucy Ann Pesko. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Violet of Akron; son, Dennis DeLuca of Akron; daughter, Ellen Marie Meade of Coventry; grandchildren, Angela (Rick Noreen) Meade, Letha (Howard) Unrue, and Noah Meade; great-grandchildren, Alex and Emily Unrue and Jessica (Ariel) Ortiz; great-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kirsten; close friend, Diane Richmond and her children, Jeff Richmond and Crystal (John) Wolverton, and their daughter Naydia; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church on Brown St. in Akron (PROCESSION TO FORM AT THE CHURCH). Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
