Her husband, Jim, retired a couple of years ago and she is ready now to get some time of her own.

“I just want to stay hom

Because they live on Palmetto Ave. on the north side of the school, she will still maintain the closeness she h
as found at St. Paul.

“It’s like such a big family,” she said. “That’s what I like the best.”

Jeanette and Jim will be making a fast getaway in July when they go to his niece’s home in Boston for a family reunion.

Besides teaching, one of Mrs. Michel’s loves is dogs. For the past two years, she and second grade teacher Mary Means have coordinated a “Pennies for Pets” project with young students at St. .Paul which raised $618 this year for a program called .
“Paws and Prayers which rescues, cares for, and finds loving homes for homeless cats and dogs.
