Class of 2009 takes final walk through the halls

It started a little after 11 a.m. Wednesday – the traditional last walk through the halls of St. Paul School by the Class of 2009.

Students come and students go, the class has learned. More than half of the eighth graders have sisters or brothers in lower grades who will follow in their footsteps on an eight-year journey.

An example we found in this photo are eighth graders Alyse Bachmann (le
ft) and Briianna Friedl holding their first grade sisters Alaina Bachmann and Roxanne Slota who are just starting the journey,

The walk began on the top floor at Mrs. Sarah Mizak classroom and wound through the halls to the first floor where the students gathered on the steps between the school and the church for the final informal class photo.

Some enjoyed the excitement of the graduation moment and others–even some mothers–were driven to tears. As they passed by each classroom, students and teachers from each grade were there to cheer them on by clapping, with a handshake or an embrace.

Hopefully, there is a reason for all of this. It might just be found in a motto you can read at St. Paul School.

“Be it known to all who enter here...that Christ is the reason for this school, the unseen but ever-present teacher in its classes, the model of its faculty, and the inspiration of its students.”

Students come and students go, and St. Paul School continues to provide an inspiration to the parish.
