Caravan to Hinckley planned to hear Mallett

A group from St. Paul will caravan to Our Lady of Grace Parish in Hinckley on March 31, the Monday after Divine Mercy Sunday, to attend a program by Canadian singer/songwriter and Catholic missionary Mark Mallett. Mark's most recent album is The Divine Mercy Chaplet, recorded with Father Don Calloway and released on Divine Mercy Sunday 2007.

Since leaving his career as a successful television journalist over six years ago, Mallet has been touring extensively throughout North America and abroad giving concerts and speaking and ministering at retreats, conferences and Catho
lic schools. He recently had the privilege of singing at the Vatican and presenting his music to Pope Benedict XVI, as well as appearing on EWTN''s Life on the Rock.

"Music has always been my first love," says Mark who has been singing and playing the guitar since the age of nine.. "When I was going to university, the highlight of my week was sitting in the echoey stairwell of our historic residence, and playing my songs into the evening - instead of doing homework. Music has been a distraction my whole life! When I should be working, I'm singing. When I should be sleeping, I'm writing. The music pursues me, and it's hard not to respond..."

Mark and his wife Lea have seven children and make their home in Western Canada.

Tony Bachmann is coordinating plans for the St. Paul group. There is a scheduled potluck for Mallett and his wife before his program. T
here is a free will offering so any little bit to help him, his ministry and his family will be greatly appreciated, Bachmann said. . Anyone interested in joining may contact Bachmann at 330.724.7938 or 330-926-7001
